Runswick Bay is one of the most popular locations on the Yorkshire Coast, and it’s for this reason that a private tour guide is best to show you the less known ‘spots’. With consistent fossils finds and rugged scenery, it is a rare treat to enjoy fossil collecting on Britain’s Best Beach, as voted by the Sunday Times in 2020. The best way to understand the geoheritage of the site is with a specialist expert. Itineraries from Runswick can include the circular walks to Port Mulgrave or Kettlenes, incorporating stunning clifftop scenery and spectacular scar rock platforms.

Private tours are available throughout the year are arranged to suit tides, adventure level, age and ability of the hiring party.  Our guides consider the unique safety factors required for safe and responsible collecting at this location.

Private tours costs are

1-6 people – 2-3 hour itinerary = Cost £150

7-11 people  – 2-3 hour itinerary = Cost £250

12-16 people  – 2-3 hour itinerary = Cost £350

(Additional hours available at an additional cost of £30 per hours)

Due to monthly tidal variations, it is not always possible to embark on all fossil hunts, but Runswick is perhaps the best location for low tide excursions month and year round.

Get in touch to discuss what’s possible for a chosen location or date range. We’ll advise on options that will be best suited to you.
