PRIVATE TOURS

Skinningrove is an often overlooked location on the Yorkshire / Cleveland Coast, but is the most likely location for finding spectacular rarities such as Brittle Stars and some Pleinsbachian ammonite species. With consistent mollusc fossil finds, it is a very special location. The best way to understand the geoheritage of the site is with a specialist expert. Itineraries from Skinningrove include locations underneath some of the highest sea cliffs in England, where over 20 million years of geology washes onto the coastal platform. This remote outdoor classroom is  great for understanding the very early and middle Jurassic period, and understanding some of the industrial archaeology of Iron, alum and jet mining.

Private tours are available throughout the year, and are arranged to suit tides, adventure level, age and ability of the hiring party.  Our fossil guides consider the unique safety factors required for safe and responsible collecting at this location.

Summer availability is extremely limited. Please book early for Autumn and 2025 dates

Private tours costs are

1-6 people – 3-4 hour itinerary = Cost £165

7-11 people  – 3-4 hour itinerary = Cost £250

12-16 people  – 3-4 hour itinerary = Cost £350

(Additional hours available at an additional cost of £30 per hours)

Due to monthly tidal variations, it is not always possible to embark on fossil hunts in all locations.

Get in touch to discuss what’s possible for a chosen location or date range. We’ll advise on options that will be best suited to you.
